An unmissable event for sport fans in Verona
Today we talk about an event to be held in the beautiful city of Verona just this weekend!
On Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd February, in fact, the AGSM Forum in Verona will host the Samsung Galaxy A Women's Cup Italian volleyball finals, an event organized by the Women's Serie A Volleyball League and Master Group Sport in collaboration with the Fipav Territorial Committee of Verona.
This is a "return" of the great volleyball in the city of the Arena: if you remember, in 2010, Verona had hosted the matches of the FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championships and, in 2013, in the Venetian city, there was the traditional "All Star Game", which was attended by the great talents of the Italian women's league.
The AGSM Forum
With a capacity of 5350 seats and opened in 1986, the AGSM Forum (or PalaOlimpia) is one of the most important facilities in Verona, where many sporting events are held: inside, in fact, are played the Pallavolo Verona matches of series A1, those of Scaligera Verona that participates at the LegaDue League and also those of the 5-a-side football team of the city.
Moreover, the Palazzetto di Verona has hosted and still hosts various events such as shows and concerts.
The event and the big names
There will be four teams that – during this weekend – will fight to win the 41st Italian Cup A1: Igor Gorgonzola Novara (holder of the last Italian Cup), Imoco Volley Conegliano (Veneto training champion of Italy in charge), the Savino Del Bene Scandicci (currently head of the Italian championship) and the Unet E-Work Busto Arsizio.
In addition, Sunday, February 3 - at 14.30 - will also play the final that will award the 22nd Italian Cup of the A2 series, between the Piedmontese LPM BAM Mondovì and the Romagnole of Canovi Coperture Sassuolo.
Big names in women's volleyball will participate at the Italian Cup finals: first of all, the eternal Francesca Piccinini, the undoubtedly best known figure in the world volleyball scene; the young Italian talent Paola Egonu, a real drag of the national team to the last World Championships played in Japan; Cristina Chirichella, Lucia Bosetti and Monica De Gennaro, respectively captain, crushing and free of the Italian national team and the foreign stars of our championship: the world champions Stefana Veljkovic and Jovana Stevanovic, the Brazilian Adenizia Da Silva, the American Kimberly Hill, Karsta Lowe and Michelle Bartsch, the best scorer of the Italian League Isabelle Haak and many others.
An event that combines the talent of the strongest players in the world and the show in the stands, with surprises and special effects to live an exciting experience in one of the most beautiful venues in the city of Verona.

The program
The first semi-final will be played on Saturday 2nd February – at 6 pm – and will see Igor Gorgonzola Novara and Unet E-Work Busto Arsizio in front.
Afterwards – around 8.30 pm – the Savino Del Bene Scandicci and Imoco Volley Conegliano will take to the field.
The teams that will be the winners of these two semi-finals will compete to win the coveted trophy on Sunday 3rd February at 6 pm.
First – as mentioned – at 2.30pm there will be the final for the Serie A2 Italian Cup between LPM Mondovì and Canovi Coperture Sassuolo.
